Function and application

A toothed belt on a drive hollow shaft converts the rotation of a motor into a linear motion. As a result,
the slide moves backwards and forwards.
The slide is plain-bearing guided (ELGA-TB-G-...) or roller-guided (ELGA-TB-RF-...). The reference posi-
tion of the slide can be detected with the help of switch lugs and proximity sensors in the slots 9.
The toothed belt axis ELGA-TB-... is intended to be used for fast
positioning of effective loads or as a drive when external guides are
used. It is approved for slide operating mode.
The ELGA-TB-... is not permitted for application conditions in which
vegetable and water-soluble greases or oils can penetrate into the
axis.
Note
The ELGA-TB toothed belt axis is not braked: If the input torque is not applied, the slide
is freely movable.
Generally, automatic locking of the complete system can be achieved by using motors
with an integrated spring-loaded holding brake or with high self-braking torque (e.g. for
vertical operation).

Transport and storage

• Take the product's weight into account. The ELGA weighs up to 100 kg, depending on the design.
For transport, the transport belts must be spaced according to the permissible support distances

• Make sure storage conditions are as follows:
– short storage times
– cool, dry, UV and corrosion resistant
– no contact with oils, greases or grease-dissolving fumes
In this way you can ensure the performance of the toothed belt.
