4.2.4 Measurement mode

For technical reasons, measurements can only be
made with the hydraulic oil in a warm condition. Check
the temperature by touching the hydraulic tank. The

tank should be hand-warm (min. 30°C).
Direct contact with the machine during k

To ensure maximum measuring accuracy:
• Factory calibration should be carried out annually.
• The rubber pads must not be damaged.
For quality assurance purposes, measurement of the
k value must be calibrated with a static or dynamic

plate loading test.
A soil stiffness measurement can be carried out at any point dur-
ing compaction.
The range for correct measurement of the k
responds to the range for a standard plate loading test.
Optimal measured values are achieved with a completely flat
base plate. Contact of the base plate with the respect to the soil
can be improved by moving the machine lightly back and forth at
the control arm.
