6 C onfi guration for RPT
In order to use RPT, the VBus access over local network has to be enabled,
see chap. 9.14 on page 28.
With a VBus.net account you can easily use RPT in order to parameterise the
controller:
Î In the VBus.net menu My Devices, click on Edit.
Î On the General settings page, tick the option Allow parameterization
using the via address and the RESOL Parameterization Tool (RPT).
Î Enter the Via tag from the VBus.net menu item General settings into the RPT
fi eld URL/IP.
Î Enter the password into the Password fi eld.
Î Click on Connect.
7 Finding the KM2 Communication module by means
of the DeviceDiscoverytool
The DeviceDiscoveryTool is a software that displays RESOL products that are
connected directly via the local network.
Note
The user name is admin. The password can be found at the back of the
housing (Web interface).
Starting the DeviceDiscoverytool from the included CD
Note
Starting the DeviceDiscoveryTool from the CD is possible under a Win-
dows operating system only. To start the DeviceDiscoveryTool, Java (ver-
sion 6 or higher) must be installed on the computer.
In order to start the DeviceDiscoveryTool from the included CD, proceed as fol-
lows:
Î Open the DeviceDiscoverytool folder.
Î Start the Start DeviceDiscoverytoolSetup.exe.
Î Confi rm all following dialogues with OK.
Î Click Start/Programs/RESOL/DeviceDiscoveryTool/DeviceDiscovery-
tool.
All LAN-enabled RESOL products found will be displayed.
Î Mark the KM2-{12-digit serial number} by clicking on it.
Î Click Open.

A new window with the Web interface will open.
Î Enter the user name and the password, see chap. 9.1 on page 25.
The Home screen of the KM2 Communication module Web interface will open.

8 Connecting devices directly to the KM2 over WLAN

Note
Before using the WLAN, make sure that the WLAN country setting is
correct, see chap. 9.12 on page 27.
The WLAN allows the installer to directly connect with the KM2 without having
to access the LAN network of the customer. All access data required can be found
on the back of the housing.
In order to connect computers and other devices such as smartphones to the KM2
Communication module via WLAN, proceed as follows:
Î If the WLAN LED is not illuminated, briefl y press the WLAN / reset button.
WLAN will be activated.
Î Select the WLAN network of the KM2 and enter the network name (SSID).
The network name be read in the Confi guration / Network menu under
Access point settings. The default SSID name is KM2-{12-digit serial number}.
Î Click Connect.
Î Enter the WLAN code of the KM2.
This code can be read from the label on the back side of the housing (WLAN-AP).
Î Start the connection.
After the WLAN connection with the KM2 has been established, the Web interface
can be reached with an Internet browser under the IP address 192.168.240.1 or the
controller can be parameterised over RPT. Using DeviceDiscovery is not required.
