Problem
Engine will not start.
Engine starts hard or runs
poorly.
Excessive vibration.
Excessive snow left behind.
Snow does not discharge
Probable Cause
Engine switch is in stop position. Push engine switch to run
Fuel valve is closed.
Fuel tank is empty.
Engine not primed.
Spark plug wire is disconnected. Connect spark plug. Refer to
Choke is off.
Excessive fuel in engine cylinder
(flooded).
Faulty spark plug.
Fuel mixture too rich.
Spark plug is faulty, fouled or
incorrectly gapped.
Fuel cap vent is blocked.
Loose parts or damaged auger
paddles.
Scraper blade is worn.
Auger drive belt is loose or
damaged.
Discharge chute is clogged with
snow.
Auger paddles are worn or
damaged.
Correction
position. See Engine Switch on
page 19.
Turn fuel valve to on position.
See Fuel Valve on page 18.
Fill fuel tank with fuel.
Press the primer bulb 3 times
engine manual.
Turn choke control knob to on
position.
Remove plug and dry.
Replace spark plug.
Turn choke control knob to off
position.
Clean and correctly set spark
plug gap.
Install new fuel cap.
Check for loose or missing
hardware or replace auger
paddles.
Replace scraper blade.
Replace belt or adjust auger
control cable.
Stop engine and close fuel valve.
Clean discharge chute and auger
housing with a tool. DO NOT use
your hands to clean discharge
chute.
Replace auger paddles.
