Preparation

1.
Always check overhead and side clearances
carefully before operation.
2. Always be aware of traffic when operating
along streets or curbs.
3. Thoroughly inspect the area where the
equipment is to be used and remove all
pets, doormats, sleds, boards, toys, wires,
debris and other foreign objects.
4. Disengage the auger control lever before
starting the engine.
5. Handle fuel with care; it is highly
flammable.
1)
Use an approved fuel container.
2) Never add fuel to a running engine or
hot engine.
3) Fill fuel tank outdoors with extreme
care. Never fill fuel tank indoors.
4) Never fill containers inside a vehicle or
on a truck or trailer bed with a plastic
liner. Always place containers on the
ground, away from your vehicle, before
filling.
5) When practical, remove gas-powered
equipment from the truck or trailer and
refuel it on the ground. If this is not
possible, then refuel such equipment
on a trailer with a portable container,
rather than from a gasoline dispenser
nozzle.
6) Keep the nozzle in contact with the rim
of the fuel tank or container opening
at all times, until refueling is complete.
Do not use a nozzle lock-open device.
7) Replace gasoline cap securely and wipe
up spilled fuel.
8) If fuel is spilled on clothing, change
clothing immediately.
6. Never attempt to make any adjustments
while the engine is running (except
when specifically recommended by
manufacturer).
7.
Always allow unit and engine to adjust to
outdoor temperature before clearing snow.
Operation
1.
Never leave a running unit unattended.
Always shut off engine before leaving unit.
2. Do not put hands or feet near or under
rotating parts. Keep clear of the discharge
opening at all times.
3. Moving and/or rotating parts can cut
off body parts such as fingers or a hand.
Always keep hands, feet and clothing away
from all rotating parts during operation.
4. Always keep hands away from all pinch points.
5. Do not touch unit parts which might be hot
from operation. Allow parts to cool before
attempting to maintain, adjust or service.
6. Check for weak spots on docks, ramps or
floors. Avoid uneven work areas and rough
terrain. Stay alert for hidden hazards.
7.
Exercise extreme caution when operating
on or crossing gravel drives, walks or roads.
Stay alert for hidden hazards or traffic.
8. After striking a foreign object, stop the
engine, remove the wire from the spark
plug, thoroughly inspect the snowblower for
any damage, and repair the damage before
restarting and operating the snowblower.
9. If the unit should start to vibrate
abnormally, stop the engine and check
immediately for the cause.
10. Stop the engine whenever you leave the
operating position, before unclogging the
auger/impeller housing or discharge chute,
and when making any repairs, adjustments
or inspections.
11. When cleaning, repairing or inspecting
the snowblower, make certain the auger/
impeller and all moving parts have stopped.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and keep the
wire away from the plug to prevent someone
from accidentally starting the machine.
12. Do not run the engine indoors. Open the
outside doors; exhaust fumes are dangerous.
