1: Antenna A and B mountings - Connect the supplied antennas, AN-81A or AN-82 remote powered
antennas, or DA6 (or DA6X) antenna distribution amplifier cables to these mountings. Third-party
receiver antennas should not be substituted. Note that 9 volt phantom power is supplied through these
mountings —be careful not to short them when making or removing connections. See the "Setting Up
and Using the Synth Series 6 System" section on page 10 for information about antenna installation and
positioning.
2: Antenna attenuator switches - These three-position switches enable the antenna inputs to be
optionally attenuated by -10 dB or -20 dB. These settings can be used to reduce outside interference or
cross-modulation interference caused by operating a transmitter in close proximity to a receiver;
however, these attenuated settings also reduce the operating range of the receiver. In normal operation,
this switch should be left at its center "0 dB" setting so that there is no attenuation. See the "Setting Up
and Using the Synth Series 6 System" section on page 10 in this manual for more information.
3: Ground screw - If required, a grounding strap can be connected from this unpainted screw to an
earthed source such as a water pipe. See the "Grounding Techniques" section on page 14 in this
manual for more information.
4: AC input - Connect the supplied standard 3-pin "IEC" plug here. The UR6D contains automatic
current and voltage sensing circuitry and so can accept any mains current from 100 - 240 volts without
the need to set a selector switch. The UR6D must be connected to a grounded 3-pin AC outlet for
proper operation.
5: Output Mixing switch - When on, the outputs from both receivers are mixed together (at the relative
levels set by the front panel AF Level knobs—see #10 on the previous page) into a single monophonic
signal which appears at both sets of balanced and unbalanced outputs.
6: Balanced outputs* - Use these electronically balanced low impedance (600 Ohm) XLR jacks when
connecting the UR6D to professional (+4) audio equipment. Pin wiring is as follows: Pin 1 ground, Pin 2
high (hot), and Pin 3 low (cold).
7: Audio Output Level switches - Sets the audio output level attenuation of both the balanced and
unbalanced outputs to -20 dB (line level) or -60 dB (mic level).
8: Unbalanced outputs* - Use these unbalanced high impedance (5K Ohm) 1/4" jacks when connecting
the UR6D to consumer (-10) audio equipment. Wiring is as follows: tip hot, sleeve ground.
9: Remote connectors - Used to connect the UR6D to a computer for optional remote control via the
Samson Wireless System Manager™
* If required, both the balanced and unbalanced outputs can be used simultaneously.
