Milltronics C-40 Solids Flowmeter
Milltronics C-40 solids flowmeter is a low- to medium-capacity flowmeter designed to
NFPA Code 8503 requirements for pulverized coal and coke. It is designed specifically for
applications where the possibility of material combustion or explosion exists. The C-40
flowmeter is equipped with an ILE-37 sensing head and is suitable for material flowrates
up to 40 t/h. The standard sensing head fiberglass cover is replaced by a hinged steel
cover.
The C-40 solids flowmeter is capable of containing an explosion generating an internal
pressure of 50 psi. Upset conditions generating up to 10 psi can be tolerated when a PTFE
inner gasket is used. In normal operation, the internal pressure must be less than 1 psig.
The flowmeter sensing head LVDT output signal is processed by the flowmeter integrator
(ordered separately) to:
• monitor material flow
• maintain accurate material inventory
The following components are included with each Milltronics C-40 flowmeter:
• C-40 flowmeter housing and flowguide
• ILE-37 sensing head (factory mounted)
• spare damping fluid and filler bottle
To complete the Milltronics C-40 flowmeter system, the following parts must be ordered
separately:
• stainless steel sensing plate
• electronic flowmeter integrator
• LVDT Conditioner Card in NEMA 4 enclosure
• calibration weights
