Construct 2x4 stud framing according to the roughing-in information.
Allow for shower door installation and receptor.
Verify that the subfloor offers adequate support, and is flat and level.

1. Roughing-In
CAUTION: Risk of personal injury. The knee wall must be securely attached to the stud wall.
Users will be using the hand rail for support, placing significant stress on the hand rail and knee
wall.
IMPORTANT! It is critical that the desired placement of the hand rail, along with the tile thickness,
waterproof membrane thickness, and cement board thickness be determined before construction of the
knee wall. The framing must be constructed correctly for correct fit and finish of the final wall.
IMPORTANT! Do not install cement board to the area on the top of the knee wall where the hand rail will
be installed. It is critical that the wall rail mounting screws be anchored in wood. If the screws are
anchored in cement board, the integrity of the hand rails will be weakened.
