Cleaning Procedure for Therapy Control Unit and Hoses

the therapy control unit and hoses should be cleaned weekly (or more often, if necessary). Wear recommended personal
protective equipment.
1.
Unplug therapy control unit from wall outlet.
2.
scrub all surfaces and hoses with a damp, coarse cloth or brush using a germicide solution.

Do not allow excess solution to penetrate the therapy control unit.
3.
remove all visible soiling.
4.
Wipe off excess germicide solution.
5.
Wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth containing disinfectant to provide a final disinfection.
6.
allow to air dry completely.

Cleaning Procedure for Foam Base

the foam base should be cleaned weekly (or more often, if necessary). Wear recommended personal protective equipment.
1.
Wet a clean, coarse cloth with germicide solution and squeeze out excess solution.
2.
Lightly scrub foam base with wet cloth.

If foam base it too heavily soiled, remove and replace with a new base.
3.
allow foam base to air dry completely.

Cleaning Procedure for Air Filter

the air filter should be cleaned as often as necessary. Wear recommended personal protective equipment.
1.
remove air filter from rear of therapy control unit by pinching center of filter and pulling outward.
2.
Vacuum filter to remove dust before washing.
3.
Soak filter in germicide solution for 10 minutes.
4.
squeeze out excess solution from filter.
5.
allow filter to air dry completely.

Institutional Cleaning (DMEs and Extended Care Facilities)

1.
follow all listed procedures for In-Home Cleaning, with the following modifications:
• always follow Universal precautions.

Handle soiled items as little as possible, with minimum agitation to prevent gross microbial contamination of the air
and personnel.
• always add high-quality chlorine bleach (5.25% sodium hypochlorite) to laundry soap and water. add 8 oz per
normal size wash load or 12 oz per wash load for larger loads (this applies to standard household size washers using
approximately 16 gallons of water).
• Disinfectants used for scrubbing surfaces should be a disinfectant solution made of epa-registered high-quality
disinfectant detergent mixed according to manufacturer's instructions.
• after scrubbing surfaces with disinfectant, wipe surfaces with a damp cloth containing chlorine solution mixed at 2 oz
of high-quality chlorine bleach per gallon of water to provide a final disinfection.
2.
after cleaning completely, cover the product with clean plastic and store in clean area.
