troubleshooting procedures for the first step select
with a specific symptom and provides a Problem / Possible Cause / Remedy approach to use in identifying the solution. the
Problem will describe the condition of the unit. the Possible Cause will describe several likely reasons for the symptom and the
steps to take in verifying the cause. the Remedy will describe the final solution to the symptom and its cause.
It is recommended that trained, qualified personnel perform any modifications, repairs or parts replacement. please contact your
supplier or place of purchase.
If this product is not in good working order, for patient safety, discontinue use and make sure patient is promptly
placed on a suitable alternative surface.
the following warnings should be observed during all troubleshooting procedures:
High voltage equipment to be serviced by trained, qualified personnel only. Dangerous voltages can present a
significant shock or burn hazard to personnel.
power must be switched off and the transformer unplugged prior to any maintenance procedure.
Carefully observe and mark locations and routing of all cables and tubing removed while performing the procedure in
order to properly locate connections, cables and their tie-wraps during replacement. Wiring and tubing must be
reinstalled exactly as before removal to ensure unit operation.

Problem
therapy control unit will not activate.
power light does not illuminate.
therapy control unit is on but surface
does not inflate.
a single cushion does not inflate.
mrs are provided in the charts on the following page. each chart deals
Cause
power cord may be unplugged from the
wall outlet.
therapy control unit may be plugged
into a non-functioning outlet or an outlet
controlled by a wall switch.
Circuit breaker or fuse for the wall outlet
may be blown.
therapy control unit may be damaged.
air hose may not be properly connected
to therapy control unit.
air hose may not be properly connected
to surface.
the surface may have rips, tears or
punctures.
the cushion may have rips, tears or
punctures.
Hose may be kinked, or not properly
connected.
a hose may be damaged.
Remedy
Verify power cord is properly plugged
in, both at the wall and on the therapy
control unit.
relocate to functioning wall outlet or
outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
reset circuit breaker.
return therapy control unit for repair.
Check to ensure air hoses are properly
connected to therapy control unit.
Check to ensure air hoses are properly
connected to surface.
replace mrs.
Check for rips, tears or punctures and
replace surface if necessary.
ensure hoses are free of kinks and
properly connected.
Inspect and replace hose.
