Select the source you want to play-
back.

Press SURROUND repeatedly to select
a Surround mode.
For a surround source:
Auto
Stereo
• Auto – See Listening in Auto mode
above
• Standard – As Auto above, but can be
used with Advanced Surround modes
(see below). Display indicates the
source as Dolby digital or DTS.
• Stereo – Downmixes surround sources
for playback through the front left/right
speakers
For a stereo source:

Pro Logic II
Music
• Auto – See Listening in Auto mode

• Dolby Pro Logic – 4.1 channel surround
sound decoding
• Dolby Pro Logic II Movie – 5.1 channel
surround sound decoding, especially
good for movies

surround sound decoding, especially

• Stereo – Regular stereo playback

Start playback of the component you
selected in step 1.
• When playing 96 kHz PCM sources, or
when headphones are connected, only
the Stereo mode is available.
Using Advanced Surround
Use the Advanced Surround modes to add
DSP effects to a source playing in a sur-
round listening mode.
