Setting up surround sound
Choosing your surround
sound settings
The Room Setup procedure (page 22–23)
provides you with a simple means of getting
good surround sound. The settings here are
more detailed, allowing you to specify the
distance from your listening position to each
speaker, for example. This should result in
better surround sound.
• Settings you make here will override
settings you made in the Room Setup.
• Settings are in feet (US model) or
meters (European model).
• The channel level and speaker distance
settings can also be made from the
Initial Settings menu (page 68–70)
using the on-screen displays.
• Speaker distance settings have no effect
on SACD playback
• The setting display is automatically
exited after 20 seconds of inactivity.
