Attention
Using this method to set the internal pre-limit switch VES can cause functional faults later, as when the
settings are made, it is not possible to take account of the switching sequence of the safety edge, the
door system dynamics and the signal duration of the control unit. The faults may mean that the door can
no longer be closed, or that the safety edge function is already deactivated above 50 mm, as a result of
which safe operation in line with standard EN 12445: Safe Use of Power-Operated Doors - Test Procedure
is no longer guaranteed.
After you switch to normal mode, you must check the setting of the internal pre-limit switch (see note in
previous section).
If the setting of the internal pre-limit switch falls outside the prescribed range (<50 mm) or functional
faults arise in normal mode, we recommend that you set the door end limits using the VES gauge or a
similar spacer (height: 30..40 mm) again, as with this setting method, the switching sequence of the
safety edge, the door system dynamics and the signal duration of the control unit can be taken into con-
sideration, and the internal pre-limit switch can then be set as accurately as possible to the height of the
spacer used (30..40 mm).
Programming the partial opening position (1/2 door height/STOP X) (only with Module Card)
Before.the.partial.opening.position.is.programmed,.the.door.end.limits.must.be.programmed.(PilotLED.must.be.illuminated).
This.door.opening.position.can.only.be.programmed.if.the.Module.Card.is.inserted.
Proceed.as.follows.to.program.the.partial.opening.position:
Step 1:
Activate.the.Partial opening (1/2 door height/STOP X)function.by.bridging.the.A11/B11.terminals.
Step 2:
Move.the.door.to.the.bottom.end.limit.
Step 3:
Now.press.the.Prog.programming.button.on.the.ELS.Professional.Card.(for.approx..3.s).until.the.Pilot LED.starts.flashing.
(flash.code:."7.flashes").
The.control.unit.now.actuates.the.door.in.dead-man.mode.
Step 4:
Move.the.door.to.the.required.partial.opening.position.
Step 5:
Press.the.Prog.programming.button.again.to.store.the.position..The.control.unit.stores.the.position.and.switches.to.normal.
mode..This.is.indicated.by.a.permanently.illuminated.Pilot.LED.
If.the.position.cannot.be.programmed,.the.opening.height.is.too.low..Move.the.door.further.up.and.repeat.step.5.
Deleting the programmed door end limits
Each.time.you.go.to.setting.mode.to.set.the.door.end.limits,.the.programmed.door.end.limits.and.any.programmed.partial.
opening.position.(1/2 door height/STOP X).are.deleted.
Attention
Each time you replace the drive and/or ELS Professional Card, the door end limits have to be repro-
grammed before the control unit is started up. If you do not do this, the door end limits may be overrun.
Procedure following a loss of power/manual actuation of the drive
Once.power.is.restored.(main.switch.switched.on/release.of.the.emergency.stop.switch).or.in.the.event.of.manual.actuation.
of.the.drive.(e.g..using.crank.handle),.the.control.unit.must.redetermine.the.current.door.position..This.is.done.in.a.reference.
run.by.overrunning.the.reference.value.encoder.of.the.BES.drive..A.reference.run.is.indicated.by.a.permanently.flashing.Pilot.
LED.(0.5.Hz).
If.the.door.is.close.to.one.of.the.two.end.limits.(below.the.lower.reference.value.or.above.the.upper.reference.value),.the.door.
can.only.move.away.from.this.end.limit,.for.safety.reasons..As.soon.as.the.control.unit.has.determined.the.exact.door.position,.
movement.in.both.directions.is.possible.again,.the.control.unit.switches.to.normal.mode..This.is.indicated.by.a.illuminated.
