8) While raising the L. stern bracket, move the L. stern bracket
a little toward the engine.
Remove the 10 mm distance collar and the gas assisted

damper assembly.

Check the lower cylinder bushings mounted on the gas
assisted damper
deformation, and replace them with new ones if necessary.

If the lower cylinder bushings have been removed, replace
them with new ones on reassembly.

• After removing the gas assisted damper assembly, take
care not to push in the piston rod by operating the tilt
5
lever.
• If the piston rod has been pushed in, extend it fully.
6
• After removing the gas assisted damper assembly, hold it
upright with the upper cylinder pin installation part
7
toward up during storage. Do not lay the gas assisted
damper assembly on its side or hold it with the 10 mm
distance collar installation part toward up.
