Communicator Programming via DLS IV (Before the installation)

NOTES: 1) Installation of the Communicator requires the local installer to perform all module programming. Prior to on-site installation,
program the Communicator locally using DLS IV software. 2) When you receive the SIM card from the local GSM network carrier, please
keep a record of the SIM card's GSM phone number.
1. Connect the Communicator to the computer using the PC-Link cable.
• PCLINK-9 Kits or PCLINK-SCW Kits for GS2060 and TL260GS
• PCLINK-5WP Kits for GS2065 and TL265GS
2. Power up the Communicator.
• Get the power from the Panel Bell output (PC1864/1832/1616) for GS2060 and TL260GS.
• Get the power from the transformer within the PCLINK-5WP Kits for GS2065 and TL265GS.
3. Run the DLS IV software on the computer.
4. Program the Communicator:
• Select the panel type and set up a new account for the installation.
• Add the Communicator type to this account.
• Add the Communicator's connection type (SMS, Ethernet/Internet and PC-Link) and enter all relevant information for future pro-
gramming.
• Open Account and go to the 'GS/IP' section.
i. Go to the 'Communicator Options' tab. Enter all relevant information.
ii. Go to the 'Receiver Options' tab. Enter all relevant information.
iii. Go to the 'GPRS Network Options' tab. Enter all relevant information.
• Use 'Global Download' and choose 'PC-LINK' as the 'Connection Type'. Then Click 'OK'.
5. Exit DLS IV. Turn off and disconnect the Communicator.
6. Power down the Communicator and insert the SIM card into the Communicator.
You can also use DLS IV to reconfigure the Communicator remotely after the initial installation. For more details, see 'Communicator
Remote Programming via DLS IV (After the Installation)' section in this manual or DLS IV Manual.

Communicator Remote Programming via DLS IV (After the Installation)

NOTE: A computer with Internet access is required for this programming.
Initiate Remote programming via Ethernet/Internet
(TL260GS and TL265GS dual-path modules only)
1. Run the DLS IV software on your computer
2. In ' A ccount Settings', select your modules and enter all relevant information under 'Ethernet/Internet' section.
3. With the DLS IV downloading software, you now have the ability to change the programming of the communicator using the GUI on
the screen. See Programming Options on page 9 for detailed programming information. Also, please refer to your DLS IV manual and
Help file.
4. After change the programming of the communicator, click the 'Global Download' and choose 'Ethernet/Internet' as the 'Connection
Type'. Then Click 'OK'.
5. The initial connection between the unit and DLS IV will be established through Ethernet/Internet. New programming of the communi-
cator will be downloaded to the unit remotely via GPRS or Ethernet/Internet. The actual path for the downloading will be determined by
the communicator's section [005], option [4].
Initiate remote programming via SMS message
NOTE: Before remote programming, you should locate the local area network (LAN) Public IP Address. Retrieve the number of the listen-
ing port; this is assigned by the application. You also should have on hand the communicator's GSM phone number associated with the
SIM card on the unit.
1. Run the DLS IV software on your computer
2. In ' A ccount Settings', select your modules and enter all relevant information under 'SMS' section. The communicator's GSM phone
number associated with the SIM card on the unit is required for this section.
3. With the DLS IV downloading software, you now have the ability to change the programming of the communicator using the GUI on
the screen. See Programming Options on page 9 for detailed programming information. Also, please refer to your DLS IV manual and
Help file.
4. After change the programming of the communicator, click the 'Global Download' and choose 'SMS' as the 'Connection Type'. Then
Click 'OK'.
5. Enter the 'Public IP Address' of you local area network (LAN) and 'DLS Incoming Port' which will direct uploading/downloading from
your local area network (LAN) firewall to your computer.
6. DLS IV will generate a text for the SMS message. This SMS message contains the information which allows the communicator to link
up with your computer. Type the SMS message in to your cell phone and send to the communicator's GSM phone number. Then Click
'OK'.
7. The initial connection between the unit and DLS IV will be established through SMS message. New programming of the communica-
tor will be downloaded to the unit remotely via GPRS or Ethernet/Internet. The actual path for the downloading will be determined by
the communicator's section [005], option [4].
Inserting and Removing a SIM Card
1. Please insure the unit is powered down.
2. Identify SIM card holder located next to radio.
3. On the SIM card holder there is a marking that says 'OPEN' with an arrow, gently slide the top of the SIM card holder in the direction
indicated by the arrow.
4. This will unlatch the SIM card holder from one side, then lift the SIM card holder from the side that is not hinged.
5. Slide the SIM card into the SIM card holder noting the orientation of the notch on the SIM card and the SIM card holder.
6. Fold the SIM card holder back down with the SIM card inserted.
7. On the SIM card holder there is a marking 'LOCK' with an arrow, gently slide the top of the SIM card holder in the direction indicated by
the arrow.
