Preparation for use

To make sure the fire helmet fits correctly, the following items
must be adjusted properly:
Wearing height (see Section 4.2.1 on Page 18)
Harness (see Section 4.2.2 on Page 18)
Support ring (see Section 4.2.3 on Page 18)
If the helmet is used as part of a mask/helmet combination, the
mask pockets of the mask/helmet adapter must be adjusted as
well (see Section 4.2.7 on Page 19). In this case, Dräger
recommends a specific donning sequence to ensure the full
face mask and fire helmet are correctly coordinated and fit
properly (see Section 4.3 on Page 19).
WARNING
!
Risk of injury!
The protective effect of the fire helmet is achieved only
when the fire helmet fits perfectly, wearing height,
harness and support ring are properly adjusted and the
chin strap is closed. Only wear the fire helmet when it
is fully assembled. All attachments must be properly
secured to the fire helmet.
NOTICE

A special narrow strip of protective foil has been affixed
to the lower outside part of the real gold face-guard

becoming damaged. Do not remove this strip of
protective film.
The following preparatory work is optional and are therefore
described in the Technical manual:
Attaching reflective strips
Attaching customised labels
Attaching the lamp holder
Mounting the mounting plate of HPS FlashLight

comfort net so it is optimally tensioned and there is a
gap between the net and the cushioning element in the
helmet shell.
