NOTES ON SETTING MOTOR SPEED
The control unit E224 provides the possibility of adjusting the speed of operation of the motors.
Trimmer 1 (8 in fig. 11) adjusts the normal speed of the gate, while trimmer 2 (22 in fig. 11) adjusts the rate of deceleration of the gate.
The rate of deceleration can vary between a minimum rate and the normal rate set by trimmer1.
The motor speed and deceleration settings affect both motors as the setting is shared.
The speed and deceleration must be chosen in accordance with the gate's weight and the stresses it experiences: excessively high values will cause the
gate to slam and may increase the force curves above the levels dictated by the standards; excessively low values may create operating problems as the
effective power of the motor is reduced.
It is advisable to perform the adjustment by trial and error until the point is reached where the gate moves easily and maintains a certain degree of force.
The speed at which the work time programming procedure is performed corresponds to the non-decelerated operating speed set by trimmer 1. During
programming the gate hits the stops without decelerating.
NOTE SON WORK AND PAUSE TIME PROGRAMMING
This procedure is compulsory in new installations, to ensure that the control unit memorises the manoeuvre times and a number of parameters used for obstacle
detection.
Therearetwotypesoftimeprogrammingmodes:
-1)automatictimeprogramming(simplified)
-2)advanced(manual)timeprogramming
Selection of the programming mode depends on the type of automation; the first (automatic) has a number of fixed parameters such as leaf delay times (offset)
anddecelerationtime,whilethesecond(manual)enablespreciseentriesoftheleafoffsetzoneanddecelerationzone.
-Ifinanydoubt,automaticprogrammingisrecommendedatfirst,followedbymanualprogrammingonlyifthegateleafsclashduringoperation.
-Manualprogrammingbecomescompulsoryinasymmetricsystemswheretheleaftoclosefirsthasamanoeuvringanglegreaterthanthesecond.
During the self-learning phase, the key S/S is pressed repeatedly ( detail 15 of fig 11); alternatively the control S/S control can be used (terminal 22, f ig. 12) or the
radiotransmittermemorisedonthefirstchannelofthereceiver.
Importantnotesbeforeprogramming:
-Onsystemswithelectriclock,thismustbefittedontheleafconnectedtomotorM1.
- Power upthe control unit and checkcorrectoperation of the command inputsby means of the relativeLeds (the N.C. contacts must havethe Led lit, and the N.O.
contactsmusthavetheLedoff).
-IfthetransmittersofthephotocellsarepoweredwiththeoutputforthePhototest(term.3and4)checkoperationbyshortingtheJumperT est(detail 11offig.1).
-Disconnectthebatteriesifused.
-Clearthegatemovementarea.
-"Self-learn"thetimesselectingoneoftheprogrammingmodesdescribedbelow.
- Position the leafs (or single leaf) in the nearly open position: the leaf must be positioned with enough space to move for approx. 5 seconds in closing mode.
-Ifusingasinglemotor,positiondipswitch11toOFFandconnectittotheterminalsofmotorM1.
- If the system is with two leafs (sliding or swing) position dip switch 11 to ON.The motor connected to the terminals of M1 will start first on opening and will be fitted
with the electric lock, while motor M2 will start first on closing (this obviously applies to normal operation, while the self-learning procedure has an order of
movementscompletelydifferentfromnormalconditions).
