Mounting with floating target

For mounting with a floating target, mounting screws are
required (see accessories on page 30).
For magnets a field strength of 3...50 mT
(on the mounting surface along the direction of
motion of the magnet) must be ensured.
Distances and tolerances to be observed
To guarantee function, the following distances for the
target must be observed:

Hole spacing
Hole spacing = Measuring range + 2 mm (hole pattern
tolerance = ±0.05 mm)
Example: Measuring range 128 mm
Hole spacing = 130 mm ±0.05 mm

Direct and inverse mounting
The BMP can be mounted directly (sensing surface
pointing to mounting surface) or inversely.

polarized target (example, N and S can also be swapped)
For inverse mounting, a recess for the button
and the LEDs must be provided (for dimensions,
see Fig. 4-13); otherwise, the BMP can only be
configured via IO-Link.

2. Attach the BMP to a surface using mounting screws
(see Accessories on page 30) and a torque of
0.1 Nm.
