Safety Instructions for Power Tools
Caution!
When using power tools, the following basic safety measures are to
be taken as protection against electric shock, personal injury and risk
of fire.
1. Take surrounding factors into account!
Do not leave power tools in the rain. Do not use power tools in a damp or wet
area. Provide for good lighting. Do not use power tools near flammable liquids or
gases.
2. Protect yourself against electric shock!
Avoid physical contact with earthed parts, e.g. pipes, heating elements, stoves,
refrigerators.
3. Store your tools safely!
Unused tools should be stored in a dry, locked area which is not accessible for
children.
4. Do not misuse the mains lead!
Never carry the tool by the lead, and do not pull on the lead to remove the plug from
the socket. Protect the lead from heat, oil and sharp edges.
5. Take proper care of your tools!
Keep your tools clean for good and safe operation. Follow the maintenance
instructions. Check the mains plug, the switch and the lead regularly. If these are
damaged, have them replaced by a customer service centre or an authorised
technician. Check extension leads regularly and replace if damaged.
6. Pull out the mains plug,
when not using the tool, before maintenance and when mounting accessories.
7. Avoid accidental start-up!
When tools are plugged into the mains supply, do not carry them with your finger
on the switch.
8. Use extension leads outdoors
When working outdoors, use only extension leads that are approved for this
purpose and labelled accordingly.
