BATTERY CHARGING

CAUTION!
Charge the batteries when the yellow (74) or red warning light (73) turns on and at the end of each cleaning
cycle. Keeping the batteries charged make them last longer.
WARNING!
When the batteries are discharged, charge them as soon as possible, as that condition makes them last
shorter.
WARNING!
If the machine is equipped with lead (WET) batteries, battery charging produces highly explosive hydrogen
gas. Charge the batteries in well-ventilated areas and away from naked fl ames.
Do not smoke while charging the batteries.
While charging the batteries always keep the hood open.
WARNING!
Pay careful attention when charging WET batteries as there may be battery fl uid leakages. The battery fl uid is
corrosive. If it comes in contact with skin or eyes, rinse thoroughly with water and call a physician.
1.
Drive the machine on a level ground and engage the parking brake.
2.
Turn the ignition switch (72) to "0".
3.
Open the machine hood (10) and engage the hood support rod (43).
4.
(For WET batteries only) check the level of electrolyte inside the batteries. If necessary, top up through the caps (45).
5.
Leave all the caps (45) open for battery charging.
6.
If necessary, clean the upper surface of the batteries.
7.
Connect the battery charger cable (48) to the electrical mains.
WARNING!
Check that the voltage and frequency shown on the machine serial number plate (41) match the electrical
mains values.
8.
When the green warning light (53) turns on, the batteries are charged.

10.
Disconnect the battery charger plug (48) from the electrical mains and place it in its housing on the machine.
11.
(For WET batteries only) Close all the caps (45).
12.
Remove the support rod (43) and close the hood (42); the machine is ready to be used.
NOTE
When the battery charger is connected to the electrical mains, all machine functions are automatically cut off.
NOTE
In case of battery charger malfunction the machine cannot work, contact an authorized Service Center.
