engine being started with a gear engaged.

Start the engine following the instructions given in the engine Operating and

Maintenance Manual.

For models with an electric starter, turn ignition key n.11 fig.9 to 1 (fig.12), then

turn the key to 2. Release the key as soon as the engine has caught and it will

automatically return to 1.

Pull the clutch lever again to disengage retainer A so that both the Motorstop

and the clutch lever are optional.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

For models with electric start, turn the ignition key fig.12 to 0.

If the machine has to stand with its lights on, turn the ignition key fig. 12 to P.

The Motorstop is a safety device to prevent the machine from running

away out of operator control.

The cultivator has 4 gears (3 forward and 1 reverse). Gears are engaged with

lever n.3 fig.1, following the directions on the sticker by the lever.

To drive the machine forward, pull in the clutch lever 6 fig.1, select the gear for

the work to be done, release the clutch slowly and accelerate (n.5 fig.1) the

engine gradually.

WARNING Do not hold the clutch lever in for a long time as this will cause

excessive wear on the thrust bearing.

The rotary cultivator, in addition to the forward gears, also has a reverser that

gives three forward and 1 reverse gear for both driving directions.

Driving direction, depending on the implements mounted is selected with lever

n.1 fig.4:

Lever to the left: normal driving direction (rotary cultivating).

Lever to the right: reversed driving direction (mowing).

Engage the reverser with the engine off and a gear engaged. Turn the engine

pulley slightly by hand.
