Intended purpose
The JuzoPro Malleo Xtec Light stabilises the ankle
joint with two rigid padded elements that are joined
together in a way that allows for flexibility and ad-
aptability and lie on the sides of the joint. It limits the
pronation and supination movement, i.e. the inward or
outward twisting.
This is how to put on your orthosis
JuzoPro Malleo Xtec Light correctly:
1. Open the two straps on the orthosis shells, fold
open the shells and lay the orthosis down on the
floor in front of you.
2. Now place your heel on the piece connecting the
orthosis shells. As you do this your foot should be at
a 90° angle to your lower leg.
3. Now fold both shells around your ankle so that your
anklebones rest in the centre of the corresponding
protrusions provided (Fig. 1).
4. Pass the upper orthosis strap through the buckle
and around your leg, then fasten it.
5. Repeat the previous step for the lower
orthosis strap (Fig. 2).
The correct fit of the orthosis is assured when it
encloses the ankle tightly. Please ensure the straps do
not have a constrictive effect and do not exert a too
strong (painful) pressure.
The orthosis can be readjusted at any time by
repeating steps 4 and 5 above. To achieve an optimal
therapy result you should wear the orthosis over your
socks while wearing runners / shoes.
Please note:
Only wear your orthosis when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff of a medical products supplier.
The effectiveness of the orthosis can only be realised
if it is applied correctly. The orthosis is largely
resistant to oils, ointments, skin moisture and other
environmental influences. Certain combinations may
negatively impact on the durability of the product. We
therefore recommend that it gets examined regularly
by the medical products supplier. Should the product
become damaged, please consult your specialist
supplier. Do not repair the orthosis yourself – this
could compromise its quality and medical efficacy.
For hygienic reasons, the orthosis is not suitable for
treating more than one patient.
Washing and care instructions
Please observe the care instructions on the foot base
of the orthosis. Wash the orthosis separately the first
time (the colour might come out). For improved clean-
ing results, we recommend that you remove the straps
completely. Wash the orthosis and straps by hand at
approx. 30 °C using a laundry detergent for delicate
fabrics. We re commend using the mild Juzo Special
Detergent for this. Afterwards, please rinse out the
orthosis well and allow it to dry at room temperature.
To reduce the drying time, you can place the orthosis
on a thick terry towel and pat it dry. Do not leave in the
towel and do not place on a heater or in the sun to dry.
This Juzo product must not be cleaned chemically.

Storage information
Store in a dry place and protect from sunlight.
Notes for the orthopaedic technician
The orthosis can be adjusted to suit the width of
the foot. To do so, release the velcro fastener at the
base and adjust the separation between the shells
as required.
Indications
Conservative and post-operative treatment of
ligament injuries, chronic instability of the ankle
joint, following ligament lesions and / or distortions,
stabilisation of the ankle joint during sport

Contraindications

If the following symptoms exist, the orthosis should
only be worn after consultation with the physician:
lymph drainage disorders, arterial flow impairment,
post-traumatic conditions, skin disorders or skin irrita-
tions; Wounds in the treatment area are to be covered
with sterile dressings.

Side effects
There are no known side effects when used as
directed. However, if negative alterations (such as for
example skin irritations) should occur while the use
of our products has been prescribed, please go to
your physician or your specialist dealer immediately.
If an incompatibility should be known against one
or several ingredients of this product, please check
back with your physician before use. If your symptoms
worsen during the time you are wearing the product,
please take off the orthosis and consult a medical
specialist immediately. The manufacturer is not liable
for damages / injuries which have been caused by
improper handling or misuse.
In the event of complaints related to this product, such
as damage to the material or problems with the fit,
