Purpose
The JuzoPro Rhizo Xtec Soft, made of inelastic
materials with adjustable reinforcing elements,
immobilises the carpometacarpal joint of the thumb,
thus relieving it.
Instructions for fitting your JuzoPro Rhizo Xtec
Soft correctly:
1. Open both velcro fastenings and pull the tabs
through the holes until the velcro fastenings are
level with the holes (do not open up completely!).
2. Now place your hand into the orthosis. Your thumb
should go through the upper tab. The two cut-outs
should be on the outer surface of your thumb (Fig.
1 and 2).
3. First close the lower tab followed by the tab
surrounding the thumb (Fig. 3).
The orthosis is fitted correctly if it surrounds the met-
acarpus and the carpometacarpal (basal) joint of the
thumb firmly and without putting too much (painful)
pressure on either area (Fig. 4).
You can adjust the orthosis at any time by repeating
step 3.
Please note:
Only wear your orthosis when prescribed by your
physician. Medical aids should only be dispensed by
suitably trained staff of a medical products supplier.
The effectiveness of the orthosis can only be realised
if it is applied correctly. The orthosis is largely
resistant to oils, ointments, skin moisture and other
environmental influences. Certain combinations may
negatively impact on the durability of the fabric. We
therefore recommend that it gets examined regularly
by the medical products supplier. Should the product
become damaged, please consult your specialist
supplier. Do not repair the orthosis yourself – this
could compromise its quality and medical efficacy.
For hygienic reasons, the orthosis is not suitable for
treating more than one patient.
Washing and care instructions
Please observe the care instructions on the interior
surface of the product. When washing the support
for the first time, please wash separately (colour may
run). The tabs may be pulled right through the holes
in order to allow easier cleaning. Hand wash only in a
mild detergent at approx. 30 °C. Please do not use any
softener! We recommend using the mild Juzo Special
Detergent for this. After washing, rinse the orthosis
well and leave it to dry at room temperature. In order
to reduce the drying time the orthosis may be placed
on a thick terry towel and dabbed dry. Do not bend
the stabilising support frame. Do not leave in a towel
and do not dry the support on the radiator or in direct
sunlight. This Juzo product should not be dry-cleaned.
Material composition
Details are provided on the label sewn into your
orthosis.
Notes for orthopaedic technicians
The built-in stabilising frame is made of aluminium and
has been anatomically formed into shape. It may, if
required, be adjusted and reformed.

Store in a dry place and protect from sunlight. The
medical retailer or doctor prescribing the orthosis will
advise on exactly how long it can be used for.
