Follow established cartridge and canister change schedules or observe ESLI to ensure that car-
tridges and canisters are replaced before breakthrough occurs.
Failure to properly use and maintain this product could result in injury or death.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations require gas-proof goggles to be
worn with this respirator when used against formaldehyde.
Follow the manufacturer's User's Instructions for changing cartridges and/or filters.
All approved respirators shall be selected, fitted, used, and maintained in accordance with
MSHA, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
Never substitute, modify, add, or omit parts. Use only exact replacement parts in the configura-
tion as specified by the manufacturer.
Refer to User's Instructions, and/or maintenance manuals for information on use and mainte-
nance of these respirators.
NIOSH does not evaluate respirators for use as surgical masks.

This respirator cannot remove all the contaminants from a hazardous atmosphere. Pay close
attention to all Maximum Use Concentrations (MUC), Limitations and other restrictions.
In addition to these Maximum Use Concentrations (MUC), Limitations, and the warnings and cautions
placed in the text, the following general safety points must be read and understood by everyone intend-
ing to use the Sundström respirator.
1.
This respirator is designed to be used only by TRAINED QUALIFIED PERSONNEL.
2.
Respirator selection shall be based upon full knowledge, and professional evaluations of the
contaminants and their maximum content in the subject atmosphere.
3.
Air-purifying Respirators shall not be used for structural fire fighting.
4.
This respirator MUST NOT BE USED for protection in atmospheres that contain air contaminants that
may penetrate, irritate or injure the skin or eyes, unless suitable additional equipment is used.
5.
This respirator MUST NOT BE USED for protection against substances that lack adequate warning
properties.
6.
This respirator is not approved for protection from abrasive blasting, including sandblasting
operations.
7.
The Sundström respirator must be equipped with the appropriate NIOSH approved air-purifying
filters, chemical cartridges, or filter/cartridge combinations, that are properly installed on the
respirator.
8.
This respirator must be properly fitted to the individual who will wear it. Do not use the Sundström
respirator if you have excessive facial hair that will contact the sealing surface. Do not use this
respirator if scars or other physical characteristics may interfere with a proper fit of the respirator.
9.
Always read cartridge and filter approval labels prior to use. Air-purifying elements designed only for
protection against airborne particulates MUST NOT BE USED for protection against vapors or gases.
