● Carefully clean the mowing deck and
mowing blades. ( 7.2)
● The mowing blades must be at least
2.5 mm thick and at least 56 mm wide
at their narrowest point. Check the
blade thickness and blade width at
the points shown using slide
calliper (3). Replace the mowing blades
if any of the measured points no longer
meet the specified values.
Checking the installation
position of the mowing blades:
Risk of injury!
The mowing deck must not be
engaged if the angle of the blades
relative to each other is not approx.
90°.
● Remove the mowing deck and set down
on two suitable wooden supports.
● Turn the mowing blades as shown. The
cutting edges must be at an angle of
approx. 90° to each other. Consult a
specialist dealer if this is not the case.
VIKING recommends VIKING specialist
dealers.
Removing the mowing blade:
● Remove the mowing deck.

● Set down the mowing deck on suitable
wooden supports.
● Loosen and remove blade fastening
screw (1) using an A/F 17 spanner (not
included in standard equipment).
Counterhold the mowing blade when
loosening the blade fastening screw.
Remove blade fastening screw (1) with
retaining washer (2) and mowing
blade (3).

Installing the mowing blade:
● Read and observe the section
"Installing the mowing blade" in
the instruction manual for the ride-on
mower.
● Install the mowing blade with the curved
edges/vanes pointing upwards
(towards the mowing deck).
● Attach mowing blade (1), screw in
blade fastening screw (2 – apply
Loctite 243) with retaining washer (3 –

observe convexity) and tighten to a
torque of 65 - 70 Nm. Counterhold the
mowing blade when tightening the
blade fastening screw.
● Check the installation position of the
mowing blades.

Replace the spring washer each
time the blade is installed and the
blade fastening screw each time
the blade is replaced. Spare parts
are available from a VIKING
specialist dealer.

The mowing deck may only be operated if
the ride-on mower is in good operating
condition. The safety instructions in the
relevant instruction manual must be
observed.
