c) Dust extraction
For optimum dust extraction, connect the dust extraction port (15) to a suitable vacuum cleaner or
workshop dust extraction system.
d) Using the parallel guide
The parallel guide allows you to make parallel cuts in
a sheet of wood, all at the same width.
Loosen the parallel guide locking knob (12).
Slide the parallel guide through the parallel guide
slots in the baseplate.
Adjust the parallel guide to the required width and
secure it in position with the parallel guide locking
knob (12).
Ensure that the parallel guide rests against the wood along its entire length to give a consistent parallel cut.
e) Adjust the bevel angle
The saw can be adjusted to cut at any angle between 0° and 45°. When making 45° bevel cuts, there is a
notch in the saw base to help you line up the blade with the line of cut.
Align your line of cut with the inner blade guide notch on the base of the saw when making 45° bevel cuts.
Loosen the bevel locking knob (14) & screw (7) located respectively at the front and back of the soleplate
(8).
Tilt the body of the saw until the required angle is reached using the bevel scale (13) as a guide.
Tighten the bevel locking knob (14) & screw (7) to secure the soleplate.
NOTE: Always make a trial cut in a scrap piece of material along a guideline to determine how much you
should offset the blade from the guideline to make.
f) Adjusting the cutting depth
Ensure that the saw is facing away from you.
Loosen the depth locking lever (6).
Hold the baseplate flat against the edge of the work piece and lift the body of the saw until the blade is at the
right depth. Use the depth scale (20) to determine the cutting depth.
Tighten the depth locking lever (6).
NOTE: Always use the correct blade depth setting. The correct blade depth setting for all cuts should not be
more than 6.35mm below the material being cut. Allowing more depth will increase the chance of kickback
and result in a rough cut.
