11.1 Maintenance

The cabinets are generally maintenance-free. Howev-

er, as described in the following sections, they must be
defrosted and cleaned.

11.2 Defrosting and cleaning

The cabinet may become dirty if used daily. The op-
erator must therefore defrost and clean the cabinet
manually at regular intervals for reasons of hygiene.
Cleaning frequency: Once or twice a year.

• Do not scrape or chip off the layer of ice and frost
with sharp objects or tools. Risk of damaging the
interior walls.
WARNING
Risk of ignition from sparks As a result of po-
tential leaks in the R-290 refrigeration sys-
tem, sparks from a vacuum cleaner or other
electrical cabinets may cause the mixture of
gas and air that may form to ignite acciden-
tally.
➤ Remove the condensation from R-290
cabinets only with a dry towel or a
sponge.
➤ Only use wet vacuum cleaners or electri-
cal appliances with an explosion protec-
tion marking inside the refrigerated cabi-
net.
The following table shows a step-by-step guide to the
complete defrosting process with an electronic con-
troller:

1. Transfer the products to other cabinets.
2. Switch off the cabinet.
3. Open the glass doors so that the cabinet can
defrost more effectively.
4. Remove all loose fittings and accessories (air
ducts, base grids, product grids, etc.).
5. Remove condensation. Either with a wet vacuum
cleaner (→ bear in mind the warning for cabinets
with R-290 refrigerant), or by drying it up with a
cloth or sponge.
6. Wipe the cabinet dry and clean the interior.
7. Close the condensation drain again if there is
one in place.
8. Reinstall the parts and accessories that were
removed beforehand.
9. Close the doors again correctly.
10. Switch the cabinet on again.
Display shows the actual temperature.
