its size is appropriate to the user, that its adjustments and its
installation are correct, that the stitching, buckles and webbing
do not show any deformations, breaks, and traces of oxidation
or other damages.
The connector at the end of the lanyard should
be exclusively locked to the harness ring
provided for this purpose (refer to the Instructions
for use of the harness that provides specifics on
this point).
Conditions of Utilization:
In order to optimize the safety conditions during work at
heights, it is important to limit movements as much as possible
and to move at a moderate speed so as to ensure that the fall
arrester functions under the proper conditions. It is essential
that the user's lateral movement remain not
exceed a cone of 40° whose summit is the
anchoring
ring.
The
fall
reference carries the suffix "HO", can be used
horizontally, see the notice annexed "Horizontal
Utilization".
In the case of a swinging fall, the height of the vertical fall is
greater than for a direct fall. Lateral movements should not
exceed 1/3 of the vertical distance from the plumb line of the
anchoring point for the fall arrester included between the
anchoring point and the working plan (see diagrams at the
end of the instructions for use).
It is necessary to check before each use that the clearance
under the feet of the fall arrester's user is at least equal to the
distance shown in the table on page 1, column 8. Verify that
there is no obstacle present in the trajectory of a possible fall.
To maintain the equipment in perfect operating
condition, it should not be used in temperatures
that are outside of a range between -35°C and
+50°C.
Despite the good protection provided by the
housing, it is important not to expose the fall
arrester, and particularly the webbing to an aggressive
environment including acids, or solvents liable to damage the
material, particularly if the ambient temperature is high.
Likewise, be careful when using the fall arrester to avoid the
webbing rubbing against sharp or rough edges that could
damage it. Use edge protection.
Horizontal Utilization:
Fall arresters, whose reference carries the
suffix "HO" can be used horizontally, and are
supplied with a notice annexed "Horizontal
Utilization."
Fall Arrester with Rescue Device
Fall arresters equipped with a recovery system in compliance
with norm EN 1496 are the subject of an additional notice
relative to the rescue system provided in annex with this type
of device.
Cleaning - Maintenance:
The fall arrester can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Do not
submerge it into water or any other liquid. Do not use
detergent, thinner, solvent or any other chemical products that
could alter the web strength or the fall arrester operating
mechanism. When the device is wet, sponge it dry it with a
cloth and let it dry naturally away from direct heat. It is
necessary to strictly follow these instructions to keep the
safety performance of the device.
Any disassembly, lubrication or especially any
modification of the device is prohibited.
inspection and/or replacement of spare parts can
only be carried out by the manufacturer or its
authorized service center in compliance with the
technical manual. The service inspection of the
equipment can only be carried out by written agreement from
the manufacturer or repair center.

Transport – Storage :
During transportation or storage, protect the fall
arrester
against
vibrations which could damage it and reduce its
performance. A waterproof bag is a good
protection. Keep the device away from the stress
of weather and ultraviolet radiation in a dry and
aerated place.

Product Life Span:
This fall arrester is designed to be used for many years in
normal conditions of use. The life span depends on the use
that is made of it. Some particularly aggressive environments
such as marine, siliceous or chemical ones can reduce the fall
arrester's life span. In such cases, particular attention must
be paid to its protection and check before use.
mandatory yearly inspection will certify the correct operating
condition of the mechanism and its serviceable condition.
Only the manufacturer or its authorized agent can decide in
writing whether to put back the fall arrester into service or not.
With regards to the preceding, the product life span
recommended by NEOFEU is ten years.
