STEP TWO: Interpret the Test Result

Which is right for you?
If water hardness is in range 1:
Honeywell recommends using the
polyphosphate filter (sold separately).
Proceed to "Water Supply and Drain
Connections" on page 10.

If water hardness is in range 3:
Honeywell recommends the home install a
water softener for its water supply. Water
hardness in this range negatively affects
faucets, dishwashers, shower heads, laundry
machines, and drains, as well as TrueSTEAM.
If water hardness is in range 2:
Honeywell recommends using the RO Filtration
system (sold separately).
Note: If the RO Filtration System is not used, set the homeowner's
expectation that additional cleaning beyond once per season will
be necessary.
Proceed to "Water Supply and Drain
Connections" on page 10. See "Appendix F:
Reverse Osmosis Filter" on page 42 to install
the filter.
