- Application of Loctite 638
Product characteristics
- Colour : green
- Temperature : resistance - 55°C to + 170°C
- TO BE USED WITH CARE : avoid any contact with eyes and skin.

- IF LOCTITE GETS INTO YOUR EYES, FLUSH THEM WITH WATER FOR 15 MINUTES.
Disassembly
- Disassemble the units : In the event of sticking, tap the parts to break the film.
- Remove particles of Loctite as thoroughly as possible.
Assembly
- Clean and carefully degrease surfaces using a solvent.
- Apply the adhesive to one of surface in a continuous way in order to make sure a good distribute.
-The parts must be assembled within 10 minutes following the Loctite application.
- Possible handling after 10 min - total polymerisation 2 h.
IV - FASTENING
Screws without adhesive drive lock or re-use after removal used LOCTITE Frein filet SR 242.

- TO BE USED WITH CARE : avoid any contact with eyes and skin and do not smoke.
Disassembly
- Disassemble the units, in case of lock, heat the screws.
- Clean excess material off the surface and degrease.
Assembly
- Clean and carefully degrease surfaces (the lubricant prevents polymerisation therefore making the product
ineffective) using a solvent or by washing the parts.
- Let evaporate.
- Apply on the thread, if possible at the end of the screw, only one drop of the Loctite frein filet.
- To reduce polymerisation time, spray activator on the thread,let evaporate and then apply Loctite frein filet.
- Assemble the parts and tighten to the required torque.
- All screws must be tightened as soon after assembly as possible.
- Immediate starting.
Tightening torque
- The tightening torques indicated in this manual must be respected.
- A tightening torque weaker than indicated may lead to a shearing stress and may break the bolt.
- A stonger tightening torque may lead to a plastic deflection of the bolt and damage of the parts.
