Greensight Rear Obstacle Detection
The Greensight rear obstacle detection system detects persons and objects
within a specific distance behind the vehicle while the vehicle is reversing.
Attention
Please note that Greensight is an accurate rear obstacle detection
system based on ultrasonic technology. This technology has its
limitations with respect to the speed of response when an obstacle is
detected in direct relation to the accuracy provided. Consequently,
Greensight should NOT be used in applications at higher speeds than
5km/h when connected directly with automatically operated safety
related devices e.g. engine cut-offs, braking systems etc. Greensight is a
safety aid provided for the driver / operator and they always remain fully
responsible for the safe use of the equipment operated.
Greensight consists of the following main components:

Control unit
•
Two bottom sensors on vehicle rear end
•
Two top/side bottom sensors (optional)
•
Monitor in the cab and a colour camera on the vehicle rear end
•
In-cab display unit or external lights on vehicle rear end (both optional)
•
Alarm horn (optional)
•
3 extra cameras (optional)
•
VDO navigation system (optional)
Detection area (zones)
The detection area has been divided into 3 zones, which can be set to customer-
defined dimensions within the parameters of the system. The zone lengths of the
3 zones are specified on a sticker inside the vehicle or on the trailer.
