- Suspend the pump from the guide rails and lower it with care using
the chain.
The pump will automatically adopt the correct installation position
and sealing is ensured by the force of its weight.
5.2 Electrical connection
Electrical connections and inspections must be performed by
an approved electrician in accordance with current local
standards.
- The type of current and the supply voltage must correspond to the
indications given on the rating plate.
- The pump control unit will need to be bought as an accessory.
If the control unit is supplied by the operator, it
ATTENTION !
must meet the following requirements :
P2 ≤ 4 kW : direct starting current
P2 ≥ 4 kW : star-delta starting current
- Possibility of connecting a klixon (WSK = open contact)
Connection : 250 V DC, 2 A.
The opening of the klixon must disconnect the pump. The pump
may only be reprimed manually.
- Make sure that the general electrical system meets current local
standards and that the power supply network is equipped with a
highly sensitive differential circuit breaker (30mA max.) to ensure
the safety of operators.
- Make sure that the electrical connections are sheltered from
humidity.
- Use a cable that complies with current local standards.
- Check that the circuit breaker setting corresponds to the intensity
value shown on the pump.
- If a connection to the unit uses level regulators, avoid placing
them near the water inlet in the sump, as this might cause them to
move, resulting in the untimely starting of the machine(s).
- Make sure that the lower regulator is not sucked up by the pump.
- Correctly secure the regulator cables and perform the adjustments. The
pump should still be submerged. The minimum liquid level must not be
below the motor's upper cover.

Do not connect the humidity sensor.

6. COMMISSIONING
You are recommended to have the pump
commissioned by Salmson's after-sales service
ATTENTION !
department.
- Before commissioning the pump, clean the sump and the pipes.
- Check that the pipes are correctly connected.
- Fill the sump with water and open each pump's isolation valve (for
fixed installation).
- Check that the level regulator(s) can be freely manipulated.
- Check that the levels are correct: alarm, on, off.
- Switch on the installation.
Automatic operation: on / off via the level regulator(s).
- Check that the electric current requirement is less than or equal to
that indicated on the motor's rating plate.
6.1 Checking the direction of rotation
It must be checked that the pump is rotating in the correct direction
before it is submerged.
- To perform this check, suspend the pump using the lifting
equipment.
- Switch on the motor through a short pulse either on the contact
breaker, or on the control unit. When the motor starts up it will
produce a pump stroke. Viewed from above, the stroke will be in
an anti-clockwise direction.
- To reverse the direction of rotation, cross the 2 phase wires on the
current power inlet, either on the contact breaker, or on the
control unit.
6.2 Setting the level control
The cut-in point must be defined such that the entire unit always
works in a submerged state (cut-in point: upper edge of the motor).
7. MAINTENANCE
When performing maintenance and repair works, make sure
that the pump is switched off, check that there is no risk of
electrocution and make sure that there is no danger of
accidental starting.
2
Protective clothing must be worn when performing
maintenance works (protective gloves) to prevent any
danger of infection.
For safety reasons, maintenance works must always be
carried out in the presence of another person.
Any damage to the connection cable must be repaired by a
2
qualified electrician.
- In any case, the current regulations must be obeyed.
- The oil in the sealing chamber must be changed once a year
2
2
(See FIG. 3).
When the oil is changed, make sure that the waste oil is
collected in an appropriate container and that it is disposed
2
in accordance with current laws.

works.
- Stop the pump, disconnect it, clean it and place it on a stable
base. Make sure that it can't fall over.
- Slowly unscrew the sealing chamber filler screw, drain the oil
through the drain screw (See FIG. 3) opening and collect it in an
