Adjust the luminance, aiming at the Y value shown
in "W" under "Target Color Gamut."
Note
The Y value for "W" under "Target Color Gamut"
refers to the Peak White Luminance value (unit: ft-L)

your requirements.
6
Select "Gray 8" from the Test Pattern drop-down list
to display the test pattern.
7
Measure the white point of the picture, and adjust it.
1 Use the Chroma Meter to make a measurement of
the x and y values for "W" of the picture.
2 If the measured values show a difference of more
than ±0.01 from the x and y values for "W" under
"Target Color Gamut," or you want to set the
values accurately, proceed from step 8 below.
8
Open the COLOR/FRAME window (page 25) and
select any of "CUSTOM1," "CUSTOM2,"
"CUSTOM3," and "CUSTOM4" from the Color
Temp drop-down list under "Color."
9
Open the SERVICE window (page 28) and adjust the
white point of the projector by using the Gain R and
Gain B
/
buttons under "WHITE BALANCE"
so that the difference between the measurement results
and the target values becomes less than ±0.01.
If you cannot obtain accuracy with the adjustments of
"Gain R" and "Gain B", use the adjustment of "Gain
30
Correcting the Color Characteristics (Color Space Converter)
G." However, the adjustment of "Gain G" may affect
the contrast of the picture.
10
Enter the adjusted white point values in the x and y text
boxes for "W" under "Projector Color Gamut."
11
Select "Red-1," "Green-1" or "Blue-1" from the Test
Pattern drop-down list to display each test pattern.
Use the Chroma Meter to measure the x and y values
for each color.
12
Enter the measured values in the x and y text boxes for
"R," "G" and "B" under "Projector Color Gamut."
13
Click the CALC button.
The color characteristics of the projector are corrected.
14
Click the APPLY button.
The corrected values are stored in the projector.
15
Repeat step 5 to readjust the luminance of the
projector.
Correction of the color characteristics may result in a
change of the luminance.
16
Select "Off" from the Test Pattern drop-down list to
turn off the test pattern on the screen.
Note
The corrected values and the target values may not be
identical due to some elements such as the accuracy of the
Chroma Meter.
Be sure to set "Contrast" to 90 and "Brightness" to 50 in
"Signal Adjust" (page 24) of the PICTURE CONTROL
window so that the corrected color characteristics can
affect the displayed picture.
