Adjust the overall level.
Example of display during USB recording
Play the source back and, while inputting the mic sound, adjust
the REC LEVEL knob so that the peak level meter never exceeds 0
continuously.
After completing adjustment, continue to the next recording
procedure.
o The volume may differ depending on the recording source. In
order to record different sources at appropriate volumes, you must
adjust the recording level for each source.
o The mic sound will be placed equally in both left and right chan-
nels so that it sounds centered.
o When recording with a mic, be careful to lower the volume
from speakers and keep the mic away from speakers to prevent
feedback.
o The mic sound cannot be recorded when recording from a CD to a
USB flash drive.
o Set the MIC LEVEL knob to MIN when not using a mic.
Feedback explanation
Feedback is when sound output from a speaker is picked up by a mic
and returned causing oscillation. This could cause very loud noise that
could even damage speakers.
Echo mode
The ECHO MODE switch can be set to add an echo to the mic input.
OFF
No echo

Light echo
2
ECHO MODE switch
Heavy echo
o Echo is only applied to the mic input. It does not affect other ana-
log sound inputs.
o You can mix and output the mic sound with playback from any
input source (CD, USB, TAPE or LINE).
Echo explanation
This adds reverberations to the original sound. The original sound is
repeated with various amounts of delay and damping over time to
produce an almost natural reverberation sound like in a hall or studio.
