6.1 Dismantling

• Dismantle the platform steps by following the steps for assembly in reverse
• At least two persons are required to dismantle the platform steps.
> Always use the ladder elements to climb onto the platform steps.
> Do not exceed the maximum permissible load.
> The platform steps must not be used by more than one person at a time.
> Do not exceed the permissible platform height (see "3.3 Technical data").
> Do not increase the platform height by using ladders, boxes or other devices.
> Do not subject the equipment to one-sided loads. Always distribute loads
evenly on the platform.
> Do not use the platform steps directly adjacent to unsecured doors and
windows. However, emergency exits must not be locked.
> Do not use the platform steps on slippery surfaces (e.g. moisture, ice, snow or
soiling).
> Do not attach advertising placards or objects which could increase the wind
load.
> In the event of high winds, evacuate the platform steps, move them to a wind-
sheltered position with the help of several other persons and take appropriate
measures to secure them against toppling over (e.g. fit anchors).
> When using the platform steps in buildings open to the wind, in buildings
without cladding or on the corners of buildings, keep a close eye on the wind
conditions and take appropriate measures where necessary to prevent the
platform steps toppling over (e.g. fit anchors).
> After finishing work, move the platform steps to a wind-sheltered position and,
if necessary, take appropriate measures to prevent them toppling over (e.g. fit
anchors).
For instructions on the use of the platform steps, see the illustra-
