Piping instructions
The capacity of Multievacuator
depends to a large extent on the
piping layout:
1. Piping must be kept as short
as possible. Do not use more
bends or flow dividers than are
necessary. The fewer there are,
the higher the capacity and the
more gentle material handling
become.
2. Leakage in the piping will re-
duce conveying capacity. Leak-
age on the suction side produc-
es a greater capacity reduction
than leakage on the pressure
side. Therefore be particularly
careful to avoid leakage on the
suction side.

3. We recommend that OK160
pipe be used for the whole of
the system. Even a short sec-
tion of larger or smaller pipe
will reduce conveying capacity.
However, if a very flexible suc-
tion line is desired, OK100 pip-
ing can be used on the suction
side.
4. Rigid piping gives greater
capacity than flexible piping.
Therefore rigid pipe is recom-
mended for conveying, with a
flexible hose just before the
intake nozzle if necessary.
5. OK piping must be supported
every 5 metres if installed in-
doors, every 4 metres outdoors.
Two gas cylinders are fitted at the
hinge to make it easier to tilt the
blower up. The gas cylinders are
fitted at the factory, but if for exam-
ple it becomes necessary to use a
different size of blower motor, the
position of the gas cylinders has to
be changed.
Fitting the gas cylinders
1. Fit the gas cylinders in the
broadest Multievacuator leg.
The number of washers (A) will
depend on the breadth of the
leg.
6. Where possible, piping should
be vertical or horizontal. Pipes
at an angle can reduce convey-
ing capacity and are subject to
greater wear.
7. Note that back-pressure will
reduce conveying capacity. If
the Multievacuator unit is to
blow material into a container or
similar, it must be possible for
transport air to escape from the
container. If the Multievacuator
unit is to suck material from a
container, openings must be
provided so that transport air
can enter the container.
