When choosing a blade, use very fine, narrow blades to scroll cut in thin wood 1/4" thick or less.
use wider blades for thicker materials but this will reduce the ability to cut tight curves.
NOTE: Thinner blades are more susceptible to blade deflection when cutting angles are not
perpendicular to the table.
Adjusting the Blade Drop Foot (FIG 7)
When cutting at angles, the blade drop foot should be
adjusted so it is parallel to the table and rests flat above
the work piece.
1. To adjust, loosen the screw ( 2 ), tilt the foot (1) so it is
parallel to the table, and tighten the screw.
2. Loosen the height adjustment knob (3) to raise or
lower the foot until it just rests on top of the work
piece. Tighten the knob.
Aligning the Bevel Indicator (FIG 8)
The bevel indicator (3) has been factory adjusted. It should be re-checked prior to use for accuracy.
1. Loosen the blade drop foot lock knob and move the drop foot up as far as it will go. Tighten the knob.
2. Loosen the table bevel lock knob (1) and adjust the table to about 0° on the bevel scale (2).
3. Place a small combination square (5) on the table against the blade (6) to set the table exactly 90° to
the blade. Then securely tighten the table bevel lock knob.
4. Loosen the screw (4) holding the bevel indicator (3), move the indicator point to 0° on the scale.
Tighten the screw (4).
5. Loosen the blade drop foot lock knob and move the drop foot down to desired position.
NOTE: Make practice cuts on scrap wood to check if the bevel angle settings are correct before
important angle cuts.

Setting the Table for Horizontal or Bevel Cutting (FIG 9)
The scroll saw table can bevel 15° to the right and 45° to the left. A bevel degree scale is under the
table as a reference for setting the approximate table angle for bevel cutting.
NOTE: Make practice cuts on scrap wood to check the angle if greater precision is required.
To set the table angle
1. Loosen the table bevel lock knob.
2. Adjust the table to desired the angle.
3. Tighten the table bevel lock knob.
4. Adjust the blade drop foot to make sure it is parallel to the table and rests flat against the work piece.
