SAFETY WARNINGS

Hydraulic pumps manufactured by Techtronic Industries GmbH
are developed for use with crimping, cutting and stamping heads.
According to this specific use, they are not equipped with an oil non
return safety system.
For this reason, use in applications different from those intended
(for example with hydraulic jacks, lifting systems or similar) can be
dangerous and may lead to severe injuries of the operator.
Techtronic Industries GmbH does not accept any liability arising
from the use of its hydraulics pumps for applications different from
crimping, cutting and stamping .
Do not build up pressure if the pump is not connected to the flexible
hose and the head as this may damage the pump quick coupler,
precipitating oil seepage.
High pressure flexible hoses are subject to a natural ageing process
which can result in a reduction in performance potentially affecting
safety of the operator. As a result their life span is limited. In order
to ensure safe use of their units, Techtronic Industries GmbH recom-
mends, Hydraulic hoses must be replaced regularly according to the
manufacturer's instruction, even if there are no visible damages.
Keep the pump and flexible hose away from naked flames and
sources of heat above 70°C.
Before using the pump always check the integrity of the flexible
hose and the quick couplers making sure there are no abrasions,
cuts, deformations or swellings.
The factory fitted guards must be in place at each end of the flexi-
ble hose. Do not touch the flexible hose when under pressure.

Definition
Tool completed the operation
and reached full crimping
pressure.
Tool completed the operation
but did NOT reach full crimping
pressure.
Tool has reached its service
interval (20000 crimps). Red/
Green flashing will begin after
the solid Red or Green indicator
for the operation is displayed.
MILWAUKEE recommends
that the tool be inspected and
preventative maintenance
completed.
When using the pump, the flexible hose must be uncoiled and laid
out straight. Before disconnecting the flexible hose, check that
the ram of the head is completely retracted, ensure a sufficient
quantity of oil for subsequent operations.
The pump is unsuitable for continuous use and should be allowed
to cool down following uninterrupted, successive crimping opera-
tions; for instance, having exhausted a fully charged battery in one
session, delay battery replacement for a few minutes.
Protect the pump, battery and charger from rain and moisture.
Water will damage the pump Electro-hydraulic tools should not be
operated in pouring rain.
The operator of this device must be instructed in the specific dan-
gers associated with using this device and in the essential safety
measures before working with it for the first time and at least once
a year thereafter.
The operating company must:
• make the operating manual available to the operator and
• ensure that the operator has read and understood it.
Use protective equipment. Always wear safety glasses when
working with the machine. The use of protective clothing is recom-
mended, such as dust mask, protective gloves, sturdy non-slip
footwear, helmet and ear defenders.
• Inspect pump, hoses, couplers, and fittings for wear or
damage. Replace worn, damaged, or missing components
with manufacturer's replacement parts. Worn or damaged
components can fail, resulting in injury. Failure to observe this
warning could result in severe injury or death.
• Ensure pump is in the desired mode of operation before
use.
• Do not use hands to check for leaks. High pressure oil easily
punctures skin, causing serious injury, gangrene, or death. If
injured, seek medical help immediately to remove oil.
• Ensure pump is below the maximum tilt angle.
• Check the oil level and adjust if necessary. Low oil may result in
injury or property damage. For best performance, always use
MILWAUKEE Force Logic™ Hydraulic Oil (4932 4720 04) to refill
the reservoir.
• Depressurize hydraulic system before servicing,
connecting or disconnecting the hose or other hydraulic
connection elements: Always press manual release
button in advance.
• Wear eye protection when operating or servicing this
tool. Failure to wear eye protection could result in serious eye
injury form flying debris or hydraulic oil.
• Only use hoses and attachments that are single acting
and rated 10,000 psi (700 bar) or higher.
• For best performance, use hoses that are prefilled with
oil. If the hoses are not prefilled, bleed the system before
operating.
• Never operate the pump without a hose or attach ment.
• For best performance, always use MILWAUKEE Force
Logic™ Hydraulic Oil (4932 4720 04) to refill the reservoir.
• For optimal functionality, use M18™ REDLITHIUM™ 8.0 Ah
battery or higher.
• Follow accessory manufacturers operator's manual.
Other uses may cause damage to the tool, accessories and
workpiece.
• Bleed the system if necessary.
Never hold your fingers or other body parts in the working area of
the cylinder or the jaws.
Remove the battery pack before starting any adjustment, cleaning
and maintenance work on the device.
