The first time the paint is smoked, it cures and is accompanied by a characteristic smell and smoke on
the surface. During the first few starts, the cartridge may also emit the smell of enamel, sealing silicone
and other materials used in the construction. This is a normal phenomenon that disappears after a few
burns. The first burning in the cartridge should be carried out in a well ventilated room. During the first
two weeks of use, the newly installed fireplace stove must be operated at about 30% of its rated power,
gradually increasing the temperature. This way of operating the fireplace stove allows for the gradual
removal of internal stresses, which prevents thermal shocks. This has a very significant impact on the
subsequent life of the fireplace stove.
Fire in the fireplace stove
The only correct and recommended way to light up fireplaces is from above.
To light the fire in the fireplace stove, open all the throttles and air curtains and then use the handle to
open the door of the fireplace stove. First of all,
In the central part of the firebox, billets are arranged alternately (no more than three layers with a
diameter of about 10 - 13 cm). At the top of the glades, smaller stacks (diameter about 2 - 5 cm) are
laid in such a way as to ensure free air flow between them. A firelighter should be placed on top of
the logs. It is forbidden to use materials other than those provided for in the operating instructions to
light up the logs. It is forbidden to use flammable chemical products such as: oil, petrol, solvents and
others for lighting up.
Light the fire starter and close the door. Firing-up may last from several to several minutes. If there
is insufficient draught in the chimney, the fire door must be unsealed in the initial lighting phase by
opening it. If the fireplace stove is not equipped with an air intake from outside, it is good practice to
tilt the window in the room where the appliance is located.
The method of opening and closing the door in the fireplace stove is shown in figure 2. a).
(b) fireplace stoves with sideways opening doors, (c) and (d) fireplace stoves with a lifting door
upwards (the lock(s) must be unlocked before opening).
Refuelling and combustion control
When the fire is lit, wait for the embers to form a layer of embers and then fill the combustion chamber
of the insert with wood, arranging the fuel in a way that rationally fills the fireplace. The loading weight
must be calculated from the power of the fireplace stove. It is assumed that from 1 kg of wood with a
humidity of up to 20%, 3 kW power is obtained. When filling up the fuel, the rule of thumb should be
that the front door should be opened slowly while opening the glass, if the fireplace stove is equipped
with it. After burning up the refilled fuel, the air throttle should be closed so that the combustion
process is not too violent. Before closing the air damper, make sure that the fuel burns so intensely
that reducing the air supply will not extinguish the fire. If the fireplace stove is equipped with a glass
pane, close it during this phase of combustion. The front door of the fireplace stove must be closed
during combustion. In the final phase of the combustion cycle, the air throttle must be opened 100%
to allow the residual fuel to burn. Only reload the fireplace stove when there is only the ignition layer
of embers left in the fireplace.
The intensity of the combustion process of the fuel in the fireplace stove must be adjusted, because
the long permanently maintaining maximum combustion temperatures can lead to overheating and
damage to critical elements of the fireplace. Control over the combustion process also reduces fuel
consumption as it extends the combustion cycle and ensures optimal use of energy.
The principle of operation of all the throttles used in each series of fireplace stoves is shown in Fig. 3
(A - air damper, B - air curtain damper, C - secondary air damper, D - pane, 1 - open position, 2 - closed
position).
