Design of the cladding of the fireplace stove
The cladding must be designed in such a way that the fireplace stove is not permanently attached to
the fireplace stove, with the possibility of assembly and disassembly without damaging it. The clad-
ding shall allow easy access to the revision of the flue connection, the operation of the glass or the flue
pipe draught control (if installed). Non-flammable and insulating materials such as mineral wool with
aluminium coating, ceramic fibres, glass fibre-reinforced heat-resistant panels, aluminium coatings
should be used for the construction. The distance between the insulation and the walls of the fireplace
stove should be 8 - 12 cm. The distance between the door of the fireplace with the cladding must
not be less than 5 mm (the expansion joint does not require insulation). The cladding should provide
access to the air needed for combustion and ventilation of the fireplace, by using appropriate grilles
selected according to the power of the appliance. At the bottom of the fireplace stove, an inlet grille
must be installed to supply air to the cladding. To ensure the proper evacuation of hot air from the
hood, install an air outlet grille in the hood. The minimum active area of the grilles is chosen according
to the power of the fireplace stove: from 50 to 70 cm
per 1 kW.
2
Inside the casing a very high temperature is reached, therefore a decompression shelf should be instal-
led in the casing at a distance of about 40 cm from the ceiling. It prevents the ceiling from heating up in
the room, heat losses and forces the outlet grilles emitting heat from the chamber above the fireplace
to be installed underneath it at an appropriate height. The decompression grilles are mounted on both
sides of the casing alternately above and below the decompression shelf. The size of the grilles and
their active field is not important.
Note
Due to the high temperature in the cartridge casing, the grilles in the canopy as well as the crowning
of the air distribution system in the house must be metal. Only grilles without blinds are installed in
the hood of the fireplace.

OPERATION OF THE FIREPLACE STOVE

When the fireplace stove is cold, all dampers must be closed so that the room in which it is installed
does not lose temperature when the fireplace is not in use. Do not use an unbuilt fireplace stove except
for test lighting.
BASIA and MILA fireplace stoves must be fitted with a manual or automatic smoke throttle mounted
on their inlet. To purchase a compatible throttle, contact the Kratki.pl Marek Bal sales department.
Note
The fireplace stove is hot. When handling and operating the fireplace stove, remember that the ele-
ments of the fireplace stove can have a high temperature, so use protective gloves for handling. Do
not leave flammable materials near the fireplace, or extinguish the fire in the fireplace with water, or
operate the fireplace stove with broken glass. The safety distance between flammable materials and
the glass is min. 1,5 m. Children or other unaware persons should not be left unattended.
If the fireplace stove is equipped with a grate and ashtray, it is not allowed to use the appliance without
these elements.
First start-up
The fireplace stove must be put into operation for the first time by an authorised installer. Before li-
ghting, all stickers must be removed from the surface of the glass and the fireplace stove must have
a sponge protecting the fire lining. The first few kindling operations must be carried out before the
casing is made in order to check the operation of all controls and other moving parts of the insert.
