In the case of selected fireplaces, a deflector, a handle, an air throttle holder and a rod holder for ad-
justing the smoke throttle (glass) must be fitted. In guillotine type inserts, the screws blocking the
counterweight must be removed. Depending on the model, the counterweight should be checked:
- chimney draught adjustment mechanism (shutter),
- mechanism for regulating the air supply to the combustion chamber (ashtray drawer, air damper),
- the mechanism of operation of the front door locking (guides, hinges, handle),
- correct installation of ashtray/drawer and grate,
- the condition of the glass and the rope sealing the fire door,
- state of the ceramic lining of the fireplace (selected fireplace inserts).
The inspection should be carried out in the presence of the installer. In case of any damage or deficien-
cies, please contact the customer service office. Before installing the fireplace stove, you must carry out
an expert's report and collect the flue pipe in terms of its technical parameters and technical condition
- tightness, permeability. The installation of the fireplace stove can be performed after a positive result
of the chimney flue expert's examination.
Location of the fireplace stove and connection to the chimney
The fireplace stove must be installed on a non-combustible surface at least 30 cm thick, and the floor
at the fire door must be secured with a strip of non-combustible material at least 50 cm wide. The
safety distance between the flammable parts and the glass must be min. 150 cm (Fig. 1 b). Before
installing the fireplace, also check the mechanical strength of the base on which the fireplace stove is
to be placed, taking into account the total weight of the stove and its cladding. The appliance must be
positioned as close to the flue pipe as possible. When moving the fireplace, do not grasp the handle
as this may damage it. The unit must be placed at a safe distance from any flammable products. The
smoke duct underneath which the fireplace is connected must be airtight, smooth and made of mate-
rials with poor heat conductivity. The connection between the chimney and the insert must be made
of non-flammable materials protected against oxidation (enamelled or steel flue pipe). The fireplace
must not be connected to a common chimney. The diagram of an example installation and connection
to the chimney is shown in Fig. 1 a) ( 1 - fireplace insert, 2 - inside the cladding, 3 - decompression
chamber, 4 - external air intake duct, 5 - external air intake, 6 - chimney, 7 - connector, 8 - ventilation
grille, outlet, 9 - ventilation grille, inlet, 10 - layer of non-flammable material).
The unit shall be connected to the chimney stack section providing a draught of 12 ± 2 Pa. If the
chimney produces poor draught, consider laying new pipes. It is also important that the chimney does
not produce excessive draught, in which case a draught stabiliser must be installed in the chimney.
Alternatively, special chimney stack ends with an exhaust fan that regulates draught or other chimney
cowls (e.g. firefighter) are an alternative. Have the flue pipe checked by a chimney sweep.
The room in which the appliance is to be installed shall have a cubic capacity resulting from an index of

ning of the cartridge. It is assumed that approximately 8 m
fireplace with a closed combustion chamber. In the room in which the fireplace stove is to be installed,
the exhaust and other equipment equipped with the fireplace stove must not be used to extract air
from the room. In rooms with mechanical ventilation or very tight windows, an individual air supply
to the fireplace stove must be used. It is best to use a fresh air intake from outside. In the case of cast
iron inserts with an optional inlet, the supply system should be additionally equipped with a throttle
so that the room does not lose temperature when the fireplace is not in use. The air intake for combu-
stion air should be selected so that it cannot clog up. The fireplace must not be exposed to moisture.
