movement of the tool holder, adaptor
or serrated tool body respectively when
tightening the threaded taper pins (tight
ening torque 8 Nm (70.81 in. lbs.)).
Mini boring tools (Fig. 2)
Mounting
Secure the miniboring range tools or
grooving cutters up to Ø 14.7 mm (.579")
① in the slide using adapter ③. The
mini boring tool reaches its cutting posi
tion when the surface ④ at the shank
end makes contact. Clamp it to the
oblique surface with a threaded taper
pin ⑤ (tightening torque 8 Nm (70.81 in.
lbs.)).

Tool holder (Fig. 3)
Mounting
Secure the tool holders in the slide via
mounting surface ① using two threaded
taper pins ②.
Notes on balancing
For optimum utilization of the automatic
balancing, steel tool holders must be used.
The position of the adjuster slide should
not exceed the range of central (= 0) to
max. 1 mm (.039 inch) diameter. See

Serrated tool bodies and insert
holders (Fig. 4)
Mounting
The serrated tool bodies ① are secured
in the slide. Fit the insert holders ③ onto
the Kprofile of the serrated tool body and
clamp them with the screw ④ (tightening
torque 8 Nm (70.81 in. lbs.)). The insert
holders can be preset with a scale on the
serrat ed tool body and on the insert holder
itself. The scale on the insert holder applies
to the central scale position (= 0).

Notes on balancing
For balancing reasons, attention should
be given to the following procedures:
The tool slide must be set to the centre
as shown on the scale (= 0). Then pre
in
set the insert holder on the serrated tool
body to the diameter required. Further
corrections can be carried out with the
precision adjustment of the DigiBore tool
via digital display, in which the
slide should not be adjusted by more
than 1 mm (.039") diameter.
