The stove is burning too strongly
Possible cause
• leak around the door seal
• chimney draught too large >22 Pa, draught regulator should be installed.
The stove is burning too weakly
Possible cause
• not enough fuel
• insufficient air supply to room ventilation
• the flue was not cleaned properly
• leaky chimney
• leakage between chimney and flue
Insufficient draught in the chimney
Possible cause
• insufficient temperature difference, e.g. poorly insulated chimney
• high outdoor temperature, e.g. in the summer
• lack of wind
• the chimney is too low and sheltered
• false air in the chimney
• the chimney and flue are clogged up
• not enough ventilation in the building (lack of fresh air supply)
• negative flue uptake (poor draught)
It is possible to compensate for a cold chimney or poor weather conditions by supplying
the stove with more air than usual.
If the issue persists, we recommend you contact your RAIS dealer or chimney sweep.
WARNING!
If incorrect or damp fuel is used, it may lead to excessive soot formation in the chimney
and possibly to a chimney fire.
• If this happens, close off all air supply to the wood-burning stove if a valve is in-
stalled for air connection from outside
• call the fire department
• never use water to put it out!
• afterwards, contact your chimney sweep to carry out a check of the stove and
chimney.

IMPORTANT!

• to ensure safe burning, there must always be yellow flames or clear embers
• the wood may not lie there and "simmer".
If the firewood is only smouldering or smoking, and not enough air is being supplied,
unburnt flue gases will develop. Flue gas can ignite and explode. This can result in harm
to material and, in the worst case, people.
Never completely shut off the air supply when lighting the stove.
