Setting manual damper
– there are three settings on the damper (see the illustration at the front of the man-
ual)
Position 1
Pull the handle all the way to the right.
The air damper is fully open and provides full ignition air (primary) and full secondary
air.
This position is for the lighting phase, and for filling, and is not used during normal
operations.
Position 2
Pull the handle to the left to the first notch (middle position). This position gives
primary air and secondary air. During normal combustion, the handle is set between
positions 2 and 3.
When the flames are clear and yellow, the damper is set correctly, i.e. slow/ optimal
combustion is achieved.
Position 3
Push the handle all the way to the left.
The damper is closed, which means there is minimal air supply. This setting must be
avoided during operation. See the warning in the next section.

Lighting for the first time

A careful start pays off. Begin with a small fire, so the wood-burning stove can accli-
matise to the high temperature. This gives the best start and prevents any damage.
Be aware that there may be a strange smell and smoke coming from the stove's
surface the first time you light a fire. This is because the paint and materials need to
harden, but the smell will disappear quickly
– ensure there is good ventilation, and
preferably a draught. Children and pets should be kept away from the stove while it is in
use.
During this process, you should be careful not to touch the visible surfaces/glass (ex-
tremely hot!). We recommend that you regularly open and close the door to prevent
the door seal from sticking.
In addition, the stove may produce "clicking noises" during heating and cooling,
which are caused by the large temperature differences the material is subject to.
Never use any form of liquid fuel for lighting or to keep the fire alight. This infers a
risk of explosion.
When the stove has been left unused for some time, use the same process as when
lighting it for the first time.
