• Always pay attention to the substructure and sub-
strate. (Crumbling material)
• Always employ a wet working process when using
diamond abrasive cutting wheels. (Water connec-
tion)
5.11 Precautions against pulling (Fig. 20-22)
m WARNING
Danger due to pulling.
The device pulls forwards away from the user when
the cutting wheel touches the object to be cut from
above.
• Guide the cutting wheel straight in the cutting gap,
do not tilt it.
• Do not grind sideways.
• Do not lean too far forward and never work above
the abrasive cutting wheel.
• Use the device only for cutting.
• First determine the cutting direction, then work,
never change the cutting direction during cutting.
• At the end of the cut, the device is no longer sup-
ported by the cutting wheel. Be prepared to take
the force of the weight. Attention: Loss of control.
• Clear the way in front of the guide rollers. Obsta-
cles can cause the cutting wheel to tilt.
5.12 Residual risks
m DANGER
RISK OF INJURY!
Contact with the rotating abrasive cutting wheel can
lead to fatal cuts.
Never touch the abrasive cutting wheel with your
hands while it is running.
DANGER OF BURNING!
The abrasive cutting wheel and exhaust system heat
up during operation.
5.13 Abrasive cutting wheels
Approvals and suitability:
Only use abrasive cutting wheels that are approved
for hand-held cutting and are suitable for the respec-
tive material. Pay attention to the labelling and use
wet cutting wherever possible.
Warning: The use of a cutting wheel that is not in-
tended for hand-held cutting machines can have se-
rious consequences and entail considerable safety
risks.
Dimensions and fit:
The outer diameter of the wheel and the diameter of
the spindle bore must be compatible with the product.
Damaged spindle bores make the wheel unusable.
36 | GB
Speed requirements:
The permissible speed of the abrasive cutting wheel
must be equal to or higher than the maximum speed
of the product.
Test before use:
Check used wheels for cracks, chipping, wear, over-
heating or other damage. Do not use damaged or in-
ferior quality wheels.
Avoid dangers:
Replace fluttering diamond cutting wheels immedi-
ately, as they can cause kickbacks and accidents. Do
not use wheels that have fallen on the floor or expired
synthetic resin wheels.
The following must be observed when handling
synthetic resin cutting wheels:
• Avoid moisture: Moisture absorption leads to
imbalance and wheel rupture.
• No liquid cooling: Do not cool with water or other
liquids.
• Storage: Protect from high humidity and rain.
• Note shelf life: Only use until the best-before date
embossed on the ring.
