7.3. Bluetooth
In Bluetooth mode, you can receive audio signals wirelessly from an external
Bluetooth-enabled audio output device. Make sure the two devices are not more
than 10 metres apart.
Only one Bluetooth device can be paired with the party speaker at a
time.
7.3.1. Pairing Bluetooth-enabled audio output device
To pair a Bluetooth-enabled audio output device with the party speaker, proceed as
follows:
 Switch on the Bluetooth function on your audio output device.
 Switch the party speaker on. Then press the S O U R C E button to select
Bluetooth mode. Alternatively, press the button to enter Bluetooth mode.
B T appears on the display. The party speaker is now in search mode.
 Pair both devices to your audio output device.
You will find more information about the Bluetooth function of your
audio output device in its operating instructions.
The device name of the MD43988 party sound system will be displayed in the
device list on your audio output device as soon as the signal is found.
 If you are prompted to enter a password for pairing, enter 0000.
You will hear a signal tone on the party speaker when the two devices are paired
with each other.
 Now start audio playback on your external device or press the
the party speaker to start playback.
Playback can be controlled using the corresponding buttons on the party speaker
(see "10. Playback control" on page 50) or via the external device.
The party speaker always attempts to automatically connect itself to the
last audio output device connected via Bluetooth.
 To disconnect an existing Bluetooth connection, press and hold the button in

Bluetooth mode.

After disconnection N O B T appears on the display. The party speaker is now in
search mode again and you can perform a new device pairing.
