8 Troubleshooting

8.1 If the appliance does not work as it should

8 Troubleshooting
See if you can solve the problem yourself by following the steps in the table below. If you cannot
solve the problem using this table, contact our Service Hotline (ZPage 53) and describe the problem
to us.
Problem
The cleaning robot
will not switch on.
The cleaning robot
can be switched on,
but won't start.
The cleaning robot
is switched on but
none of the status
LEDs are on.
Or:
The cleaning robot
only cleans parts of
the room to be
cleaned.

Possible cause / solution
The batteries are empty. It could be that the batteries are so empty that
the on/off switch cannot even flash red or emit a continuous red
light.
Charge the batteries as described, ZChapter 4.3, "Charging the appli-
ance".
The on/off switch flashes red or emits a continuous red light and the
batteries are not charged.
Charge the batteries as described, ZChapter 4.3, "Charging the appli-
ance".
The cleaning mode was not selected after the appliance was switched
on.
Select a cleaning mode straight away after switching on the cleaning ro-
bot, ZChapter 6.1, "Switching on the appliance".
You have not put the robot on the floor yet and instead are holding it in
the air.
Put the robot onto the surface to be cleaned and then select the corre-
sponding cleaning mode, ZChapter 6.2, "Wiping up dust" or
ZChapter 6.3, "Washing".
The control cube is not switched on.
You can also use the EVO PLUS without the control cube. Though if you
want to clean efficiently, switch the control cube on, ZChapter 5.2, "Pre-
pare appliance for wet cleaning".
The batteries in the control cube are dead (LED on the control cube
emits a red light).
Replace the empty batteries, ZChapter 4.2, "Inserting batteries into
control cube".
The control cube is switched on, but not ideally positioned.
You can use the EVO PLUS nevertheless. To clean efficiently, position
the control cube so that:
„
it is on a high piece of furniture;
„
it can send a signal towards the ceiling without hindrance;
„
it is approximately in the centre of the room to be cleaned;
„
its blue LED is pointing into the room; and
„
its blue LED is pointing away from the nearest walls.
If this doesn't help, in the immediate vicinity of the control cube let the
appliance travel towards the control cube. This makes it easier for the
control cube to find the robot.
