FIG. 83
BEVEL INDICATOR CABLE (E) Fig. 83: Keep the cable (E) and mating slot (P) free of dust and debris buildup. Blow out
area regularly with compressed air.
AS NEEDED, GREASE THE WORM GEARS (F) and (G) Fig. 84: Keep the worm gears free of dust and debris buildup.
Blow out area regularly with compressed air. Use a lithium-based multipurpose grease as needed on these gears. When
greasing gears, be careful and do not get any grease on the bevel indicator cable (E) Fig. 83.
CLEAN SAWDUST BUILDUP OUT OF CABINET PERIODICALLY: An access panel (H) Fig. 85 in the front of the saw
helps with this. Open the panel — by twisting the knob (I) — and clean out sawdust buildup periodically. NOTE: Debris
can also be removed from the Unisaw from below the throat plate, inside the dust port and from behind the motor cover.
To reduce the risk of injury, turn saw off
and disconnect power before cleaning or servicing.
REPLACING BELTS
1. Open the motor cover (J) Fig. 86.
2. Place a piece of wood (K) Fig. 86 between the motor
and the saw cabinet.
NOTE: You may need to raise the saw arbor to insert the
wood. Lower the saw arbor until the motor contacts the
wood.
3. Loosen the bolt (L) Fig. 87. Lower the saw arbor to
remove tension from the belts (M). Tighten the bolt (L).
4. Raise the saw arbor slightly and remove the wood (K)
Fig. 86.
5 . Lower the saw arbor to its previous position. Remove
the belt (M) Fig. 87 from the pulleys.
6. Install the new belt, in the grooves of the arbor pulley
(N) Fig. 88, and the motor pulley. (NOT SHOWN.)
7. Loosen the bolt (L) Fig. 87, and carefully let the motor
rest on the belt.
8. Correct belt tension is indicated with a 1/4" (6.4 mm)
deflection in the center span of the pulleys, using light
finger pressure. Tighten bolt (L) Fig. 87.
9. Ensure the cable (O) Fig. 87 is oriented as shown.
