•
Prevent the risk of fire – remove all
flammable material from the work area.
•
If possible move the workpiece to an area at
a distance from flammable material.
If the workpiece cannot be moved, cover
flammable material with fireproof material.
•
Remove or protect all flammable material
within 10 metres from the work area.
Cover or block open doors, windows,
cracks and other openings with fireproof
material.
•
Screen off the work area with portable
fireproof screens. Protect walls, floor,
ceiling etc. of flammable material with
fireproof coverings.
•
When working on metal walls and ceilings
move flammable material on the other
side of the workpiece to a safe place to
avoid fire. If it is not possible to move all
flammable material to a safe place,
appoint a person to act as a fire guard
with fire extinguisher during the cutting
work and for at least 30 minutes
afterwards.
•
Do not weld or cut in material that has a
flammable coating or inner structure with
flammable material, such as walls or
ceilings, without having an approved
method to eliminate the risk of fire.
•
Never put hot slag in containers that
contain flammable material. Keep a fire
extinguisher handy and make sure that
you know how to use it.
•
After finishing the work carefully inspect
the work area for signs of burning. Note
that visible smoke and/or flames might
not been seen until some time after the
burning has started. Do not use the
product in an explosive environment, for
example near flammable liquids, gas or
dust. Make sure there is adequate
ventilation in the work area to avoid the
accumulation of flammable liquid, gas or
dust. Do not expose containers containing
unknown material or flammable material
to heat that can result in flammable or
explosive fumes. Empty and clean
containers before exposing them to heat.
Ventilate closed containers, including
40
castings, before preheating, welding or
cutting.
•
Never touch live parts. Wear dry, insulated
gloves. Do not touch electrodes or earth
clips with bare hands. Do not use wet or
damaged gloves.
•
Avoid the risk of electric shock. Do not use
the product outdoors. Make sure that you
are insulated from earth and the
workpiece when using the product.
If possible use dry, non flammable
insulating material, or dry rubber mats,
dry wood or plywood or other dry,
insulating material to cover all of the work
area where you can come into contact
with the workpiece and/or the floor.
•
Check that the product is stable and in a
safe place. If the product drops or tips over
when the plug is plugged in this can result
in a risk of fire, electric shock, and/or
serious personal injury.
•
Never modify the plug in any way. Never
use adapter plugs together with the
product.
•
Keep your head away from fumes and
gas, and avoid inhalation of them. Ensure
adequate ventilation, or use suitable
extraction devices to keep the area free
from fumes and gas.
•
The burner is supplied with voltage when
the trigger is pressed. Make sure the
burner is at a safe distance from persons
or flammable material before the trigger
is pressed.
•
Switch off the product, pull out the plug
and discharge the electrode to earth
before inspection, maintenance and/or
cleaning.
•
Only use compressed air of 4 or 5 bar.
Never use oxygen, carbon dioxide,
combustible gases or any other bottled
gas as a source of air for the product.
Such gases can result in an explosion
and/or serious personal injury.
•
The warnings and instructions in these
instructions do not cover all the possible
situations that could occur. The user must
