Intended usage
RUGGEDCOM products are intended for use in typically harsh environments. If you want to use the product in a different
environment, check the required conditions.
The product may be operated only by personnel qualified for the specific task in accordance with the relevant
documentation, in particular its warning notices and safety information. Based on training and experience, qualified
personnel are capable of recognizing risks and avoiding possible dangers when handling these devices.
WARNING
Proper use
RUGGEDCOM products are intended for the monitoring of electrical substations and other mission-critical applications. Refer
to the relevant documentation for information on the scope of application of the respective product (e.g. ambient
conditions, possible use in safety-critical systems).
If third-party products and components are used, these must be recommended or approved by Siemens. Proper transport,
storage, installation, assembly/disassembly, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and decommissioning are required to
ensure products and their accessories operate safely and without any problems.
Death or serious injury can occur if this warning is ignored.

Electromagnetic compatibility
RUGGEDCOM devices are intended for operation in the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) environments.
Make sure your application is set up in an EMC-compliant manner as described in the documentation.
NOTICE
Interference emission / Interference immunity
The operation of the devices can cause radio interference in residential areas.
If higher Electromagnetic Interfance (EMI) is expected at the place of use than is intended for the area according to EN
61000-6-2, additional measures are required (e.g. ESD, overvoltage protection).
